How does Media Ownership affect how movies are made? (B.E.13)
- Evaluate the arguments against media ownership by fewer and fewer companies.
Companies that are owned by fewer companies have more leverage to do what they want without worrying of opposing other companies. This is because when a concept is owned by several companies it has to consider what other share holder feel like representing. When the companies is bigger its in a better spot light which mean it has to consider morally and social rules. A smaller company has to conder this but when the company is smaller it can do as it please because there is yet to be people to criticize what is being done.
- ‘In the world of media ownership, bigger is always better.’ To what extent is this true in the media area you have studied?
One can argue that Media ownership is better when there is a better and bigger expansion of companies, but one can argue that the les that owns the companies is better for several reason. First example is money cuts since in most case the companies are feature in one another the money has to be split a percent goes to the featuring company. Of Course in Somes cases the benefit a featuring company can get is more or so popularity. One can argue that if your able to keep the amount of partnering companies minimally it will help to create bigger profit because there are less people to pay for . On the other hand syergy is create with these companies an example is coke and disney or cars with disney in genral . Over all the only reason i argue a smaller expanision better is because of budget cuts , copy right , and owership issues and every one in the companis would have to agree
